Help us create a pet friendly world

Baxta has 5 key goals to make a significant impact to create a pet friendly world.
1

Safety for baby pets, such as ensuring puppies are born in safe and loving environments

The Situation:

Commercial breeders are operating pet farms where pets such as puppies are living in squalor, cramped and in cruel circumstances

Baxta Impact:

Baxta’s community can alert you to potential and known unethical pet farms and recommend ways to safely buy pets
2

Homes for pets, supporting landlords and body corporates to approve pets

The Situation:

50% of housing has a ‘no pet’ policy; every year thousands of Australians are forced to surrender pets because of restrictions in housing

Baxta Impact:

Baxta advocates for more homes to be pet friendly to keep pets and their parents together as a family. Baxta is also a corporate sponsor of the RSPCA
3

Pet friendly travel, supporting people to travel to pet friendly destinations

The Situation:

Lack of knowledge of pet friendly accommodation, venues and transport means people do not travel as much with their pets as they would like to

Baxta Impact:

Baxta not only has a directory of travel venues and services but advocates for more businesses to become pet friendly
4

Pet friendly urban planning, advocating for public spaces that welcome pets

The Situation:

Street design, parks and building design are not inclusive or safe for pet related activities, isolating pets and pet parents from society

Baxta Impact:

Recognising and promoting pet friendly urban design such as lighting, walking paths and leash free parks
5

Pet welfare, advocating for animal well-being

The Situation:

Understanding pet needs and being able to provide for these is a vital part of having a pet. Inadequate shelter, diet, medical care or an unsuitable environment can all lead to suffering

Baxta Impact:

Baxta has it's own resident vet, Dr Simone Maher, who provides evidence based advice on the real issues and how to maintain pet welfare.
